Job Summary
The Security Officer ensures the safety and security of Global Wheels Transport & Logistics' personnel, property, vehicles, and facilities. The role involves monitoring company premises, enforcing access controls, maintaining a visible presence to deter theft or unauthorized activity, and responding to security incidents. Additionally, the Security Officer receives all waybills and container interchange documents from drivers after deliveries and maintains accurate logs for company records.
Key Responsibilities
These duties are intended to describe the general nature and level of work. Other tasks may be assigned as needed.
- Monitor all company premises, yard areas, and fleet zones to ensure safety and security.
- Enforce access controls by verifying personnel and visitor credentials.
- Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, and emergencies.
- Maintain daily security logs, occurrence reports, and attendance records.
- Receive waybills and container interchange documents from drivers after every delivery and ensure proper handover to the Accounts Department.
- Patrol company property regularly to prevent theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access.
- Collaborate with HR, Safety, and Operations teams to report incidents and security breaches.
- Maintain a professional and visible presence to deter potential risks.
- Operate on rotational shifts to provide continuous security coverage.
- Perform additional duties reasonably assigned by management.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Minimum secondary education; security training or a diploma is preferred.
- 2–5 years of security experience in industrial, transport, or logistics environments.
- Knowledge of security systems and CCTV operations.
- Basic record-keeping and reporting skills.
- Ability to work rotational shifts, including nights and weekends.
